Feds to give US auto industry loans and bailout, ignores small business again

Jobs are important in any economy. Given the current economic climate, they are even that much more important.

The U.S. Auto Industry is losing sales and money faster than Madonna is dumping Guy Ritchie!

"All three automakers are burning up cash as the U.S. auto market downturn continues with no end in sight. Analysts say GM and Ford are spending more than $1 billion per month more than they bring in, while Chrysler's figures are unknown because it's a private company. Analysts say GM could reach its minimum operating cash level of $14 billion sometime next year."

While I am not surprised that Washington wants to help, in the name of saving jobs, I have at least three concerns.

1. The auto industry was already appropriated money and has yet to make anything positive of that donation, err, bailout. Why give them more?
2. Manufacturers like Nissan seem to be doing just fine. If any or all of the "Big 3" went away, wouldn't those lost jobs go to firms like Nissan as their market share would increase?
3. Congress and the Administration seems laser-beamed focused on helping big business yet is doing absolutely NOTHING (as usual) to help small business. If "small business" is, as the politicians say, the backbone of our economy, why are they not getting any assistance?

If we save the auto industry and lose small businesses, what did we really gain?
